Privacy Policy

1. Our Commitment to Your Privacy

Helpii ("Helpii", "we", "us", "our") provides courier, business delivery, and house & office moving services across Auckland, New Zealand. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have over it. We are bound by the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and the Information Privacy Principles it sets out.

2. Information We Collect

What we collect depends on how you use Helpii:

  • Account details: name, email address, phone number, and password (stored in encrypted/hashed form - we never store your password as readable text)
  • Booking details: pickup and delivery addresses, parcel type, weight, quantity, delivery instructions, and a photo of the parcel
  • Business account details: company name, contact person, business email/phone, and estimated delivery volumes, if you enquire about a Business (B2B) account
  • Moving request details: property type and size, pickup/delivery access details (e.g. floor, lift availability), item categories, and any photos you provide
  • Payment information: we do not collect or store your full card details ourselves - payments are handled directly by Stripe, our PCI-DSS-compliant payment processor (see Section 5)
  • Communications: messages you send us via the contact form, email, or when raising a delivery concern
  • Technical information: IP address and browser information collected automatically for security and to keep the site functioning correctly

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Calculate delivery quotes and process, track, and complete your orders and moving requests
  • Process payments and send order/payment confirmations and invoices
  • Respond to enquiries, delivery concerns, and customer support requests
  • Send you service-related emails (order status updates, quote approvals) - these are operational, not marketing
  • Improve the reliability and safety of our services
  • Meet our legal and tax record-keeping obligations

We do not use your information for marketing communications unless you have separately opted in, and you may opt out at any time.

4. We Do Not Sell Your Information

Helpii does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes. We only share information as described in this policy.

5. Third Parties We Work With

To operate the service, some information is shared with trusted service providers, strictly for the purpose of delivering our service to you:

  • Stripe - processes card payments. Stripe receives your payment details directly; Helpii never sees or stores your full card number.
  • Google Maps - used for address autocomplete and calculating delivery distance. The address you enter is sent to Google to provide this functionality.
  • Email delivery provider - used to send order confirmations, quote approvals, and account emails (e.g. password resets).
  • Government agencies or law enforcement - only where we are legally required to disclose information.

We require every service provider we work with to protect your information and only use it for the purpose we've engaged them for.

6. Overseas Disclosure

Some of the service providers listed above (including Stripe and Google) operate infrastructure outside New Zealand, including in the United States. Where personal information is processed overseas, we rely on providers that maintain data protection standards comparable to New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020.

7. Cookies

Helpii uses only the cookies necessary to run the website - to keep you logged in and to protect your submissions from cross-site request forgery. We do not currently use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Session cookies are cleared when you log out or your session expires.

8. Data Retention

We keep your account and order information for as long as your account is active, and afterwards for as long as required to meet our legal, accounting, and tax obligations (generally up to 7 years for financial records, consistent with Inland Revenue requirements). You can ask us to delete your account at any time, subject to those retention obligations.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information, including:

  • Encrypting all traffic to and from our website (HTTPS)
  • Storing passwords using industry-standard one-way hashing - not as plain text
  • Restricting access to personal information to staff who need it to do their job
  • Using a PCI-DSS-compliant payment processor so we never handle raw card data

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your information protected.

10. Your Rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:

  • Ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you and access a copy of it
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, or incomplete
  • Ask us to delete your account and associated personal information, subject to our legal retention obligations
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time

We will respond to any request within 20 working days, as required by the Privacy Act 2020.

11. Children's Privacy

Helpii's services are intended for use by individuals aged 18 and over who can enter a binding contract for delivery and payment. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time as our services change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Continued use of Helpii after an update means you accept the revised policy.

13. Contact Us & Complaints
